Last night I attended the D12 Foundation All star Game in Orlando, FL.  I was looking forward to watching some basketball as Dwight Howard hosted as the Newschool Magic vs. Old School Magic with proceeds going to fund his charity foundation D12.  Held at UCF arena the festivities started before the game with a variety of acts being brought in.  Not only before the game but during “Official Timeouts” different groups were brought onto the court to perform including, but not limited too, local breakdancing/ hip hop groups, speed artists, trampoline dunkers and the UCF dance/cheer team.  I had never been to the UCF arena but it was better than anticipated with even the Upper Bowl being close to the action.
Before the game started most of the players warmed up 45 minutes before the game signing autographs and talking with fans.  About 2 minutes before the tip the celebrity coaches entered the floor with Floyd Mayweather (replacing Fat advertised Fat Joe )coaching the Old school with Assistant coach Atlanta Hawk Josh Smith.  For the New School Head Coach Lil wayne and Assistant Coach Washington Wizard John Wall.  The crowd stood on their feet and erupted as Lil Wayne entered the arena and almost everyone (including myself) didnt notice Floyd Mayweather until they showed his face on the jumbotron.
In attendance playing for the New School the current Magic team minus: JJ Redick, Malik Allen, Hedo Turkaglu, Jason Richardson, and Chris Duhon. Old School included Penny Hardaway, Stevie Franchise!, Drew Gooden and Trevor Ariza.
Dwight called the lineups for each team throwing in some jabs to each player as they came out including. ( Still selling shirts in Orlando “Matt Barnes will f***ing kill you!” and “If he went outside right now you couldn’t find him, Brandon Bass”
The game was like most All Star games which included a lot of dunks, 3 pointers and little defense, even though Earl Clark played harder than in most games I witnessed him play in the regular season.

The Old School came out with the victory but I was more than happy just to watch some guys go out there and play some basketball.
…and Floyd Mayweather got booed when he was announced as the coach, Quit ducking Pacquaio!
